Longhorns Retired Jersey Numbers
Currently only three players have had their numbers retired by the team, which means no-one is allowed to wear the same shirts again in recognition of their achievements for the club:
#1 Stocker, Alan
#25 Hashim, Ahmed
#37 Hill, Andy
#1 Alan Stocker
#25 Ahmed Hashim, S, 1991 - 1995
Ahmed is often described as the most dominant defensive player in league history. He is in the BCAFL Hall of Fame, was named League Defensive Player of the Year in the 1993 - 1994 season and represented the Great Britain Bulldogs on two occassions. He is also the only player in team history to be nominated to the All-College 1st Team for two years running. In honour of his contribution to the team, Ahmed's number, #25, is retired.
#37 Andy Hill, LB/OL/FB, 1996 - 1999, 2000 - 2003, Head Coach, 2005 - 2008
Andy Hill's representation of the club spans well over a decade, throughout which time his contribution has been of the highest order. As a player, he was elected to the BCAFL Hall of Fame and named League Defensive Player of the Year for the 2001 - 2002 season. He represented the Great Britain Lions on two occassions and then once again as a Coach. Being nominated to the All-College first team only once, in 2002, Andy remedied that by making Northern Allstar appearances on no fewer than six occassions.
